It’s all in the planning, and I couldn’t agree more, I love this stage it’s where we plan the stories you want to tell, the location, props and the outfits. We’ll use a mood board to really nail down the look and feel you want to portray through your images. I’ll collate this into a shoot plan so you know what to expect from your branding shoot.

Time to get some beautiful images, the camera is there to serve you and tell your story, I will be there with all the tools and direction to make sure we have a great shoot day together. Sarah Rankin launched her own business in 2022 ‘Sarah Rankin Cooks’ after her success on the t.v show Masterchef, she is something of a local celebrity here in Kinross.
We were introduced by a mutual client and after seeing examples of my work Sarah wanted to book me for a personal brand shoot so she could establish her own brand apart from Masterchef. She needed images to use on social media, her website and for PR.
Before we started shooting we did a lot of planning and made mood boards so we were both on the same page with what to expect from the shoots. We spent several days photographing her recipes and going around the local area meeting suppliers. This has been a labour of love and shows my versatility and passion for photography.
We have since worked together several times, most recently for one of Sarah’s Cookery Classes providing her with a vibrant collection of images to use to market future classes.

The brief was to capture her in the kitchen showing her love of food, local ingredients, preparing and making some recipes. We had a venue arranged but it fell through, so we adapted and did the photoshoot in my kitchen. We captured a variety of beautiful images which included movement, creativity and Sarah’s personality.
At the end of the day Sarah told me about a book she was writing and how she would need a photographer!! In early 2023 a publisher is confirmed and Sarah’s book ‘Kith’ is going ahead.
